In 2015, Reuben Krabbe and a team of skiers traveled to the Arctic Circle to ski remote mountains and shoot a total solar eclipse while doing so. Battling extreme weather conditions, they made the long, arduous trek to Svalbard, one of only two places in the world where the total solar eclipse could be seen. Last March, photographer Reuben Krabbe’s dream was realized. He had a vision of traveling to the Arctic Circle to nab a ski photograph during a full solar eclipse—meeting that goal is captured in “Eclipse,” the award-winning film released today. But, photographer Reuben Krabbe saw the eclipse as a once in a lifetime opportunity to capture an image so rare, so elusive, that many thought it was impossible: In March of 2015, Krabbe and a team of skiers, guides, and camera crew set out to Svalbard in the high Arctic.
